For a podcast that claims to cover 'beef and dairy' I find that cheese is very rarely mentioned. Is this a particular editorial decision (maybe to avoid confusion with the popular comedian Les) or is there another reason?

Good question! I think subconsciously we know that we exist in a podcast ecosystem where there are a number of monolithic cheese podcasts (Cheese, Please!; The Rennet Zone; No Whey!; Mongerz etc.) and maybe there's a sense that we can't compete. Something to reflect on, for us I think.

Not sure what you mean by this. Eli's pockets are absolutely stuffed full of dead woodland animals.

1. A candle tastes like an incredulous waiter looking up the Heimlich manouvre on Wikipedia, other diners slowly raising their camera phones and the sponsors that you are out at dinner with silently deciding to divest from your podcast Network.

2. I'm still getting through the haul from my last woodland visit! Lovely haslet crown last night.

In this week's episode, I couldn't help but notice that you seemed to have great chemistry with Bob Trescothic and Michael Banyan. Would you consider a podcast with those two? It doesn't even have to be about beef or dairy, you could just chat about random topics. Sounds crazy, I know, but I bet it would be entertaining.

We did record a pilot but then we sent it away to be edited by someone who had advertised their services online. Something like "Spurbs"? Anyway, he never sent it back.

Do you happen to have listenership statistics on how many listeners are involved as opposed to just interested in the production of beef cattle and dairy herds?

I was about a dozen episodes in before realising that I wasn't, in fact, listening to the Beith and Dalry Network Podcast. A solid 8 hours of non-North Ayrshire content before I realised, silly me! I was just looking for information about pothole repair on the A737, but I am now the proud owner of a herd of 80,000 dairy heifers!

Hello there, big fan of the show, helped me through some pretty difficult lamb withdrawals last year and got me into arse candling in a major way. What I'd love to know is if Elli Roberts is as nice in person as he comes across on the podcast? Thanks for your time and beef out💃🏼

People find it hard to believe, but if I'm honest he's not as nice as he comes across on the podcast.

Glad you're doing better, as the weather warms up (if you're also in the Northern hemisphere like me) you can start arse candling with lighter tallows which really makes a difference.
